FILM

In partnership with Vessul Creative and 5Star Preps, I produced and edited a short film about the Austin-East High School soccer team’s 2021 state championship season—the same year a shooting happened at their school. The focus wasn’t on the news story, but on the players themselves: how they stayed connected, showed up for each other, and kept playing.

I loved these guys and my only goal in the edit was for the audience to feel the same.

Encounter - IFF Film

While at Fellowship Church, I produced Encounter as part of our International Film Fest—a series of five short films crafted to go beyond simple introductions to our global partners.

Encounter followed a team on their journey to Mexico, inviting our church into the story in a tangible way. The goal wasn’t just to report on a trip—it was to bridge the distance between here and there. Through immersive storytelling, we helped people step into another world, see the faces and places our teams love, and feel personally connected to the work God is doing.

One More Week  was a series I shot, produced and edited following the West High School football team on their 2023 state championship run, capturing the full arc of a season—its highs and lows, its goofs and grit. The series was built to feel like more than just coverage; it was an invitation to be part of the team. We wanted viewers to ride the bus, hear the pregame speeches, laugh at the locker room jokes, and feel the weight of the final whistle.

I later edited the three episodes into a feature-length film, which premiered at the Knoxville Film Festival (I have a fun story about that screening, ask me about it some time).

I partnered with 5Star Preps to create Game Film, a series focused on the stories behind high school football—the places, people, and meaning found beyond the scoreboard.

This film ... there's not much more to say but it was my favorite. This community is itching to make people feel like they belong, even a guy tagging along with a camera for one Friday night.

It was also our most successful as far as metrics garnering 180K views on Facebook. But what meant the most to me was the comments. People from all over the country were shouting out the schools for the deaf in their communities and wanting to go see a game.

Eat It - IFF Film

While working at Fellowship Church, I created Eat It as part of our International Film Fest—a series of five short films designed to do more than introduce our international partners.

The goal was to help our church body step into their world, to see the people and places they love, and to be invited into their lives through story. Eat It was one of those films, using storytelling not just to inform, but to connect—making distant places feel close and turning ministry updates into meaningful encounters.

I will also add that I got to try everything in the film and the fried cheese in Nicaragua was life-changing though I'm still on a low-sodium diet to counteract it.
